Grace Goulson, nature/traveling/photography enthusiast

Hey, I’m Grace Goulson. I was born in New Mexico on a Navajo Indian Reservation. No, I am not Navajo, I was just born there. But despite me not having any Navajo blood, the fact that I was born there is still a big part of my life. I absolutely love traveling out west (back to my hometown) and prefer the southwest to boring old Kentucky (though maybe I’m just getting tired of it?). I have been to over 40 of the states and would love to visit all of them by the time I am 25. I also have a sizable list of countries I would like to visit, ranging from Iceland to Greece to Australia. I love camping, hiking, and spending time outdoors in general. This past summer I went on a 5-day, 25-mile backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon with some of my extended family. That whole experience was amazing, and even though I did the same trip 3 years ago, I got even more out of it this time. After our hike, we went up into California a little to Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks—I really, really liked California a lot and wish I could have spent more time there.
I don’t really like the fact that people get SO obsessed with one particular thing, so I try to stay away from that. Also, I hardly ever sit down, determined to roam the Internet aimlessly, like it seems most teenagers do nowadays. However, I am slightly geeky when it comes to Harry Potter, and I really enjoy the show Friends; and I am fairly knowledgeable when it comes to matters related to those two things. I’ve also really gotten into photography this past year especially. I am always taking pictures (mostly of nature) with my beloved iPhone. I like sharing my photography on Instagram, as well as follow amazing photographers from around the world on their adventures.

I play trumpet in the band here, and I also take private piano lessons. I love playing any sport, and I think I’m fairly well-rounded when it comes to athletic endeavors. I live on a farm and I love animals. I’m also passionate about the environment and would like to pursue a career that would give me opportunities to save the world!

Here's a picture I took of the lovely Colorado River at the bottom of the Canyon
