This post is really long. I apologize in advance.

Hi, I’m Angela Maske. I was born in Providence, Rhode Island. After moving to Boston, I lived there for most of my life before I moved again to Lexington in 2008. Even though it’s been nearly 5 years, I often still feel like I’m a bit of an outsider in Lexington and in the south (or relative south) in general. “Pop,” “sucker,” and “cuss” still sound wrong and I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it. I’m still slightly confused by monogramming and sweet tea, and maybe I’ll never understand these things because I’ll always be a northerner at heart. Regardless, though, I’m grateful that I am able to have a more broad perspective because of these differences.
It is also worth noting that I love to travel. So far, I have visited 5 countries (other than the US): China, Japan, England, Canada, and the Bahamas. I most enjoy immersing myself into the culture of wherever it is I visit. Since I’m half Chinese, I visit China almost every summer and I am continually surprised by what I learn or see each time. I would love to continue to explore new places, though;  Europe, Australia, and the Middle East are at the top of my list.
Honestly, there are way too many things that “geek me out.” It’s kind of bad, really. I love YouTube, music, fashion, movies...it’s endless. Because there are so many, I guess I’ll name a couple of each. YouTube is kind of self-explanatory...it has anything and everything. But here’s a video I think is just great...it’s a cappella, Disney, political, and comedy! What’s not to love? (By my standards, this is school appropriate but it's up to Mr. Logsdon's discretion).

Music...I’ll list some artists I guess: Vampire Weekend, Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, Rizzle Kicks, Imagine Dragons, Macklemore, Coldplay...yeah that’s more than a couple. As for fashion, I guess I can’t really narrow that down any further, but I love browsing on Polyvore. I like to think I live by the quote by Oscar Wilde: “You can never be overdressed or overeducated,” although I’m sure that makes me seem horrifyingly pretentious. Some of my favorite movies are Inception, the Amazing Spider-Man, Breakfast At Tiffany’s, Limitless...clearly it varies.
Besides all these (arguably) superficial facts, I also have a deep passion for making a difference...which sounds cheesy but frankly I don’t know how else to put it. I love knowing that something I do can impact someone else in a positive way, which is why I love volunteering and participating in my community. You only have one life, after all...why seclude yourself?
Performing "The Cup Song" with my friend for some Tibetan kids this summer because that's basically the only talent we had to showcase...
