Assignment 24: Grace Goulson

Well the fact that I'm submitting this post 3 weeks late speaks to my overall performance this year-- not that I have underperformed so-to-speak, but I have slacked off a bit. I guess I have come down with a case of early-onset senioritis, as many of my classmates also suffer from. But junior year has been pretty great. We're right in the thick of high school: this is what it's all about. Homework load this year has been surprisingly light compared to last year, but even still school has been just as hard. I've enjoyed being able to drive myself around second semester since I got my intermediate license just after Christmas. Now I'm really starting to feel like an almost adult (I turn 17 tomorrow!).

One of my great successes has come from being selected as a Governor's Scholar, and I'm really excited to participate in GSP this summer. I'm excited, but at the same time it's such a big time commitment. Besides GSP I'll hopefully be going on a mission trip to Detoit, which I'm really excited for. I'm bummed that I won't be able to roadtrip to Glacier Natolnal Park this summer like my family and I originally planned, but I'm sure I'll have fun nonetheless. I also plan on enjoying our newly-installed swimming pool with my abridged summer.

I'm super psyched for senior year, and unlike some, I'm excited to do my mentoring project and apply to colleges. I'm ready to be the big (wo)man on campus and rule the lowly underclassmen (not really). But I'm ready to enjoy my last year of high school and prepare for the next chapter in my life.

For now though,
Junior year, it's been real
