Assignment 25 Maranda Gaines

I love lifeguarding so much. Lifeguarding is life. Literally. My whole summer and this school year have basically revolved around working as a lifeguard. This year at my private pool, I was promoted to head lifeguard. Being head lifeguard, I am basically in charge of all of the lifeguards. I am almost like a manager but I’m not old enough to get that title…yet. I also work at the ymca as a lifeguard. I don’t like lifeguarding here nearly as much as at my private pool mostly because the shifts are super long and we don’t get breaks when we are supposed to. The pool at the YMCA is almost always lap swimmers so there isn’t anything interesting to watch unlike the clubhouse pool where tons of kids are at the pool every day. When I grow up, I want to be a professional lifeguard. Technically I already am a professional lifeguard since I am certified, but I want to be professional as in make thirty dollars an hour :))
