Disney Word opens near Orlando, Florida. This is a very near and near fact to
me, as I would not be here if that never happened. Here’s what was happening: My
mom worked at Disney World as a travel agent while we were living at my dads’ parents’
house. She worked to get enough money so that we could move to Lexington and
rent an apartment. Disney was the highest paying job she could get at the time.
So that’s good. Disney meant a lot to me and basically made up a year of my
childhood. (Although, after you ride everything 100 times, it gets boring) Disney World also became a worldwide attraction and gained the Disney Company a whole lot a
revenue that they then pushed back into the company, creating some of the most well-known
and respected characters and series today.
