If there is one thing I have learned over time, it is that you
can’t please everyone. No matter how right you think you are or how
practical/reasonable your ideas are, there will always be someone to disagree
with you. Conflict arises when two individuals/groups have opposing ideas and
neither individual/group has the diplomacy to compromise. Everyone has a vision
of how they think the government should operate, who the leader of the country
should be, how issues such as world hunger and water scarcity can be ended,
etc. and some feel like sharing their opinions in close-minded, radical ways is
an effective method in achieving their goals. Well, they’re wrong. I have
learned from personal experience that people are more willing to listen to your
ideas when you present them in a calm yet assertive, open-minded.
So in my opinion, war is not necessary, but it’s inevitable.
Having a civilized discussion seems way more rational than having man kill man
in order for an individual or group to get their way, but others feel like war is the only way to accomplish anything. I don’t think war is ever justifiable but whoever fired the first
shot would try to conjure up a reason why they think it is.
