Assignment 7 - Angela Tseng
September 30th. Sure this day may seem insignificant, but many things have happened on this day in the past such as the 1st Portuguese immigrants arriving in Hawaii, but the event I'd like to talk about, unlike that, is completely unimportant: On this day in 1888, Jack Ripper murdered two women. Didn't I tell you it was unimportant? Yet this mildly interests me simply for the fact that I really enjoy learning about things like this, the strange and almost creepy things that happen, and surely Jack the Ripper qualifies. I suppose just two women aren't really a large fraction of the number that Jack mutilated, but it's still quite fascinating on how he was able to kill two women in one day and not get caught. In fact, he never was caught and even to this day his identity remains a mystery to the world, which is actually quite the eerie thought.
