iWrite: Then and Now

Were I alive twenty years earlier, my life would have likely lead a very different path. Looking at past years, I've experienced, learned and realized many ideas about my life though the aid of a screen and a couple of wires. The technology of today has hardened me to the intensive and abrasive world which I discover more about each day. I feel today's society lives in 20MB speed, our experience in the world coming from the censored, yet somehow uncensored media which technology allows. If I were alive twenty years ago, I would certainly not be the person I am today, this much is obvious. But would I be a better person? This I do not know, but my guess would be no. I feel technology has has a more positive impact than negative on not only me, but society. Interaction with the world outside our own protected bubble has never been so easy. For example, Syria. It is amazing how Twitter, a simpleton's social network service, would change a society so quickly and drastically. I believe Syria would eventually have come to the same fate, but because of Twitter it occurred much quicker. Therefore, I believe society still operates the same. The only thing which has changed is the speed at which it happens. Sometimes I fear the fate which will come to our generation through possible overexposure and quickness. But sometimes I see the light in it, the innovative and bright minds which society--no, technology--has cultivated though the touch of a button.
