Positive Technology

​I don't think I would face much opposition in saying that technology is an extremely broad topic. To ask in what way technology has influenced me is nearly to ask how my life has been. My prenatal health was monitored with an ultrasound machine. I don't have to walk the ten miles to school because of the lovely automobile. I can enjoy the luxuries of heating and air conditioning and running water, all because of this thing called technology. The fact is, in 21st century America, technology is everywhere; it's inescapable. And this is becoming increasingly evident as our lives become more and more dependent on email, smart phones, GPS,  and blogs where students can be forced to turn in work when they're not at school. As the sassy Cinemark movie guy says, "our lives seem to be overrun with technology." But is this really a bad thing? Is being able to talk to a relative who lives thousands of miles away bad? Is an incubator keeping a premature baby alive bad? There most definitely negative aspects of technology, but if pose the simple question: "is technology good?" my answer will always be a resounding yes. The pros definitely outweigh the cons. So, then, how has technology affected me in a majorly positive way? By allowing me to live comfortably and have the world at my fingertips. There is no doubt that this is something we all appreciate.
